Build your own project with AI

AI can help you turn almost any idea into a working app quickly. You still make the decisions - the tool helps you plan, write, debug, and ship faster.

A simple way to start

  1. Write down the problem and who the app is for.
  2. Define the smallest useful version - one core feature is enough.
  3. Ask your AI tool for a plan before asking it to write code.
  4. Build one feature at a time, test it, then deploy it.

I want to build [your idea] for [your user]. The main problem it solves is [problem]. Help me define the smallest useful version, recommend a simple tech stack, and create a step-by-step build plan. Do not write code yet.

Why there is another level: when anyone can build with AI, the strongest proof is showing that real people wanted what you made.

Get real users

Do not wait for a perfect launch. Put your project in front of people, ask what confused them, and improve it from their feedback.

How to get your first users

  1. Start with friends, classmates, clubs, and people who have the problem.
  2. Post a short demo showing the problem and what your project does.
  3. Ask every user one question: “What would make you use this again?”
  4. Track users, sign-ups, feedback, or repeat usage - then improve the product.

“Built and launched a study-planning app used by 100 students; improved onboarding using feedback from 20 user interviews.”

Project checklist

  • □The project solves a clear problem

  • □There is a live link or demo
  • □The GitHub repo has a clear README and screenshots
  • □You can explain what you built with AI - and what decisions you made
  • □At least a few real people have tried it
  • □Your resume bullet includes a result or something you learned
